How do I switch the StarterCharacter while the game is running?

I have two teams in my game and would like to use a slightly different starter character for each so that players will have a better idea which team each player is on (on top of already having blue dots on their heads). I have two Models named ("StarterCharacter") but once the game loads I can't figure out how to change the starter character. I just need to know where to find the starter character for a set player after the game loads, don't write me a script because I can easily do that myself once I find the starter character. Once I find it I would just do this:

StarterCharacter:Destroy()
Clone.Parent = wherever the starter character goes
Clone.Name = ("StarterCharacter")

Or something like it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

StarterCharacter is sort of opt in, meaning if you need it you can simply create a model under StarterPlayer called StarterCharacter and the game will use that model for players.

Now with the nature of StarterCharacter this means you can only have one model underneath StarterPlayer.

You'll have to work around this INSIDE your single StarterCharacter Model either by combining both models and destroying parts of the team model you don't need or something else.

Good luck!

Just though of something: You may be able to spawn each team seperatly by one: preventing people from resetting and loading in (menu? or if they do load if change their already loaded character model) and then make StarterCharacter one team, respawn those people, change StarterCharacter to next team, then respawn those people.

  • Now that I read this in my head it doesn't sound like a good idea, but hey maybe it'll give you a thought.
