This has seriously been messing with me since I am so used to having the non-curved faces to be on the y-axis of the cylinder. And now all cylinder has their circular faces be on it's x-axis
Let's say that I want to shoot a cylindrical laser using ray.new(). How do I reorient the cylinder laser so that the non-curved face is facing towards the object it is shooting at so it looks like a normal laser?

Offset the yaw 90 degrees upon setting your cylinder's CFrame. so CFrame.Angles(0, math.pi/2, 0)
