Difference between WalkAnim and RunAnim (R15 Default Animations)?

I'm manipulating the speed of the player, and noticed that the R15 animation looked a bit weird when they got too slow. The animation doesn't seem to change, but rather just scales to the player's WalkSpeed. I then found that there is a WalkAnim as well as a RunAnim.

How does Roblox tell which animation to use, and is there any way I can manipulate which one will be used in different scenarios?

From what I am aware of the walk animation is only available on mobile devices due to the fact that they can walk slower if they wanted to: https://gyazo.com/08d92afe28eec6bc1bb251864f56a58d I am sure that that is the only difference. As you see in the GIF in the beginning I was walking instead of running. Then I start running.
