how to make members of a team be known to the server?

Asked by 5 years ago

I have a menu and is based on GUI and a local script.. Based on the menu, i can choose my team and it will spawn me accordingly.. Works absolutely fine in game as well as in studio..

However, when i joined the game with a friend when it was published yesterday.. even after choosing her team, and got spawned accordingly, i still saw her on team visiting.. She also saw also me on team visiting but i was on team witch..

What I mean by i saw her on team visiting is the roblox default team gui in the upper right corner

So im guessing this is a server issue and idk what to do.. im thinking about letting the server know whats going on but when i read the documentation on roblox.. i did not understand whts going on so?

teams should be set on the server, setting the teams using a localscript will only set them on a specific client. https://scriptinghelpers.org/guides/server-client-relationship-in-roblox GoldAngelInDisguise 297 — 5y

In order to make this work you would have to create a group, store the group positions then assign teams according to those group positions. I can't think of any other way to do it, but there probably isn't any other way that is that simple.
