Sound playing more times than it should?

I am building race start lights, and when the red lights come on, a beep sound plays, however this beep is actually playing more times than it should. should only beep once, actually beeps around 2-4 times, kinda like the sound is lagging (i feel like i'm missing out something really obvious here),
