alright so in my game i got a custom chat and i had a filter going for it and then all of a sudden it just quit working and now everyone just says "TextHolder" i havent touched to script since i got it working with the script below but how the chat works is the filter then it sends it to my chat function which grabs that and slaps it into a textlabel that displays for everyone
script:
game.Players.PlayerAdded:Connect(function(plr)
plr.Chatted:Connect(function(msg)
local id = plr.UserId
local Chat = game:GetService("Chat")
local filteredText = "TextHolder"
local errorMessage = "whoops"
local success, errorMessage = pcall(function()
local filteredTextResult = Chat:FilterStringForBroadcast(msg, plr)
filteredText = filteredTextResult
end)
if not success then
warn("Error filtering text on second:", msg.." to ".."filteredText"..":", errorMessage)
end
newChat(filteredText, plr)
end)
end)

I do not understand why you need to declare a local variable Chat? You should move that to the top of your script. Now, more along the lines of the spirit of your inquiry, I did make a custom chat. if you want me to make it a free model so you can check it out I can.
