Gui not becoming transparent?

I'm making an intermission gui for my game, the following code is included once a round of my game starts:

gui.TextLabel.BackgroundTransparency = 1
gui.TextLabel.TextTransparency = 1

When i test this, it simply ignores the code and continues to show the gui throughout the whole round and proceeding to work as normal after round has finished. Any ideas?

You are using a LocalScript? if no, use a LocalScript.

i am using an Incredibly long script that stores all the events that happen in each round on a while loop. I also have a status which controls what happens on the gui.

If this is not a LocalScript, you are already on the wrong path.

For first, try to insert the LocalScript into your button. and detect if map is spawned. if not put transparency 0 if yes put transparency 1

Is there a way i could have code triggered in a separate local script?

Yes, using a remote event.

That's exactly what i just started doing some research on, I might get it now.

Ill try learning remote events another day, would this work: if workspace.Map:FindFirstChild("map1" or "map2") == true then

try it

Use Visible = false unstead.

To have code run from a different script, you have to put the code in a module script, and then have a script access the functions by requiring the module script (require(moduleScript)).

I see that you might be having issues with this. I decided to cook up a quick script for you to use.

what is it?

if these lines are below the while loop then they won't work because while loops yield the script (everything below that while loop won't run else use spawn())
