Is it safe to parent a main module?

So my loader, Novus, parents itself to ServerScriptService. Is it better to leave it where it is or parent it there?

If you are talking about private modules. They will be removed soon.

Not an explaination, but yes you can. It should be fine still. I tested it myself.

Kingdom, that's misleading, don't go tell people about that! It just means that you can't use a private module another developer created! If they want to share it to you, they must either give you the code in verbatim or release it to be taken similar to a model. You can still have your own private modules.

Roblox just wants developers to be able to see what the code does. That means you if keep your private module, private you can either let everyone see the code or none. To quote the announcement: "We will be removing the ability to use closed source modules from other creators on the platform."

I'm aware of this removal of private modules. I don't know where modules are located when they get required, so I was just wondering if it's safe to parent them somewhere.

Chaddaking, is the module owned by other player? You don't need to parent it, you just need to require it, plus you can't require a modulescript in your Game(Say game.Workspace.ModuleScript)

You can steal modules this way.... suspicious

It's my module, I'm trying to prevent people from stealing it.

Just use script = nil so that people can't steal the source

Just leave it where it is

Whilst it shouldn't cause problems, there's no need to parent it and Roblox has been known to be a little bit funny about changing the parent of some things.
