The variable is not something that can have a parent but I also can't index a nil value i'm not sure what to put?

yes, me as well am confuse
I have a bodygyro with two Positions position 1 is set to the local characters position and position 2 is set to nil I, using a function I got the magnitude of the nearest NPC and tried to set Position 2 to that NPC rootpart but it says im still indexing a nil value when i tie it together on renderstepped, I know it may sound confusing but this is the best I can explain it.
