How can I make holes in bricks. Or Negate and union?

I notice in lots of games a part sometimes a bullet in many games like Phantom Forces,CBRO the bullet is often able to go threw walls. Hitting mutiple players. There would actually be a hole in the wall that was created when the player fired a bullet. How can I do this?
