I understand how to use them, but my question is when, or what is the point/need. When is the right time to use them, are there any situations when I should use them. If anyone has any clarification on this, please let me know!

It is really useful to use metatables when you are working with OOP(short for object oriented programming)
Have any examples thought. Thats my question.
