How to make a dummy look like your character?

How do I make dummy look like the character but isn't the character. I am trying to make a posed dummy that looks like the character so I can make a menu where you start. Like an rpg with your character leaning on a wall with start next to it and store and all that. (All I need is how to make a dummy look like the character not the gui scripting or anything)
