COMMUNITY QUESTION

why do Solo and Server testing handle tool unparenting differently?

Upon unparenting a Tool held by a player, I found widely different behaviors in server vs solo testing.

In Solo, it behaves like Backspace -- dropping the Tool and placing it forwards and above the player.

In Server, The tool UI disappears and the tool is stuck to the player's hand, although it is unparented in both the Player1's and Server's Explorer.

This is all I'm doing -- connecting to Activated

local Tool = script.Parent
Tool.Parent = game.Workspace

Does anyone know why this is?

The solo play and the server test have many differences, and I guess this is just another one.

Is there a correct way to drop or throw a Tool in server test then?

Wouldn't Tool.Parent = game.StarterPack ???? Unless is something like a vending machine that spawns items. Can you use the plugin by CloneTrooper9010 ( I Think that's their username ) so that it's actually on their hand, the Part in the tool must be a union or mesh ( depends ) and must be named Handle with Anchored to false. I'd suggest CanCollide to false as well, please check on the tool and you shouldn't need a script, another script might be trying to affect it.
