Is it possible to use DataStores locally? [UNSOLVED]

I'm going to start using data stores to save up some values for the players but I'm unsure if I can use them in a local script or inside a player because I need to save some values inside PlayerGui

I'm asking this because I don't wanna write a giant script if it won't work afterwards..

If I can it's great but if I can't how will I get the values I need from the PlayerGui?

Yes, using remotes, but what you want to do is pretty dumb, giving players access over their own values (everything can be exploited if it's inside the client)

I'm trying to get values from the players gui. Mostly texts and some values. And I already have an anti-exploit script done.

"I don't wanna write a giant script if it won't work afterwards". ie you're not willing to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them? And yet you'd rather try to do something completely irregular which would probably just take you longer.

pls just do it normally and use FE for what it was made for.

I don't know why you marked this as unsolved, you'd need to use remotes to send values from client to server if they're GUI related. I answered the question.

No, it is not possible. The client should not be requesting to load their data, the server should handle that. The process should be abstracted away from the client.

How will I access the PlayerGui through the server then?

You wouldn't, the server shouldn't ever care about GUIs at all, you'd send a RemoteEvent and have the client perform GUI actions.
