I am making a tycoon like building game and wonder if this would be a good way to make it. I would have a big platform that is completely transparent and no collisions. I would have the object follow the mouse with mouse hit. I would have a button clicked and the building part would be placed. To move object up or down, the entire platform would move up and down. Would this work? Thank you...

Why don't you try it and find out...
Because I’m at school and it will take a long time to do, and someone else might have a different way that is much easier and time saving, that’s why
you can get a sandbox out of free models and check how the scripts work
