When I use local scripts to do even the simplest of tasks it doesn't work?

When I do even the simplest of tasks on local scripts such as

print("Hello World!")

nothing happens, how come? I've tested this on solo play through roblox studio, keep in mind I'm quite new to scripting and don't know much about local scripts anyways.

Where are you putting the script

You haven't provided enough details, such as where the localscript is being stored, and if you are pressing play or not, but I'm going to assume this is an issue with where you are storing the script.

LocalScripts are ran by the client and only can run if it is a descendant of:

  • A Player's Backpack, such as a child of a Tool
  • A Player's Character model
  • A Player's PlayerGui
  • A Player's PlayerScripts
  • The ReplicatedFirst service

If it is not parented to or is not a descendant of one of these objects, then it will not run any code inside of it.
