COMMUNITY QUESTION

How would I make a press "e" to pick up script without having to use remote events?

In my script, I use remote events to prompt my local script to activate on touch of my object. It works, but its reaction is very slow. On touch, it would take about 1 second to print out my debug code. It does well in studio, fast and responsive, but when in game, this method just does not cut out for quick response, especially when my game requires it very much.

Then there is something very wrong with your game. Remotes require up to 100ms to send given that your connection is fine, or around 500ms if your ping is high. You are most probably overloading the REs with requests since they have a limit to avoid buffer overflows.

But for your question; yes, it is indeed possible if you store the inventory locally; though, it'll be far more exploitable.
