How would you go about making a players velocity 0?

I have an Obby and dying makes it take too long to respawn so instead I just have it teleport you back to the last stage. Problem is if you get flung at high speeds teleporting doesn't slow your momentum. Just wondering if its possible to completely stop a players momentum otherwise, I'm just going to have them die. Don't think I have to post the script it's just a standard CFrame teleport.

Consider doing something like this

game.Players.PlayerAdded:Connect(function(plr)
	plr.CharacterAdded:Connect(function(char)
		char:WaitForChild("Humanoid").Died:Connect(function()
			plr:LoadCharacter()
		end)
	end)
end)

LoadCharacter is just a forced respawn, so there will be no wait.

Yes I did this too but the problem is my script is checking for the OnDeath function not the LoadCharacter. Thanks anyway.

	local VelUp = Instance.new("BodyVelocity")
	VelUp.Parent = game.Players.LocalPlayer.Character.HumanoidRootPart
	VelUp.Name = "FlyVel"
	VelUp.velocity = Vector3.new()
	VelUp.P = VelUp.P*10
	VelUp.maxForce = Vector3.new(math.huge,math.huge,math.huge)
