I am working on a game which includes morphs, and part of those morphs are a scabbard, which is used for sheathing a sword of course. The players will already have swords in their standard inventories/ backpacks after spawning in. After they have touched a morph, I want to make it so that when they un-equip their sword, it appears in their scabbard at their side.
The sword in question is not made with a mesh, so the standard practice of using a weld script to weld the sword to the player's side will not work. So instead, I had planned to just change the transparency of parts which I added to the scabbard to make it look like the sword was in it. The idea is that when one un- equips their sword, then it will change the transparency of the hilt of the sword in the scabbard to 0, and back to 1 when equipped.
I have not had success with this, and am completely lost on how to even begin. I originally tried to adapt a sword side weld script, but after months of not scripting at all, I find it extremely difficult to figure out how. Please help, as I am pressed for time.

How do I change a character's morph by un-equipping a specific item, and re-equipping it?
