COMMUNITY QUESTION

How do I make a sphere flicker a "light"? ( for a candle )

I am a beginner at scripting and I need help to script a sphere flickering as if it was fire.

I need the sphere to go from metal (color: New Yeller) to neon (color:New Yeller).

I also need a pause in between each flicker for about .05 seconds.

I don't have a code because I'm not familiar with scripts.

I also want the variable to be fireIt.

Please send a script of what it would be like.

Hi there.

Do some research. The ROBLOX wiki is a great resource.

But, straight to the point, use a function called math.random() [generates a random number] to alter the brightness of your candle [if you're using it as a light]

local candle = game.Workspace.Candle.PointLight
while wait(.05) do
	candle.Brightness = math.random(1,10)
end

Or, if you must do it your way...

while wait(.05) do
	candle.Material = "Metal"
	wait(.05)
	candle.Material = "Neon"
end
