I do not know how to make a script that makes the player pick(in-game) his own gender. I'm really stuck at this point in my game.

Can you explain better what you want in gender? like the gender does something for example give different hair or something explain what you want in gender changes
there are more then 290325872937482374927340 genders think you can handle that?
You could start your game with an option to pick from boy or girl genders w/ a GUI. Just have different actions happen based on which button is clicked.
