Why are RBXScriptSignal:connectFirst and connectLast deprecated?

On the Roblox wiki page for RBXScriptSignal here it shows there used to be connectFirst and connectLast methods that would trigger their functions before and after traditional connects respectively.

This seems like a useful feature. Why is it not only deprecated, but also protected?

You can just put the function & connect line earlier on in the script to get the same result.

We do not usually get told why things are deprecated on Roblox in most cases. Some common reasons why things are deprecated are:-

  • Lack of usage making it impractical to support it, this was the case with the old terrain system

  • Impractical with the current system ie no longer required

  • There is now a better / more efficient method

And the list goes on..

I would take a guess at connectLast being deprecated as it's a little impracticable i.e. If you connect two functions using connectLast which function will be last?? the same can be said for connectFirst.

Currently when an event is fired it will run each connected function in reverse order so the last connected will run first.

Lastly is it not defined what they mean by protected ie scope or the connected function.

I hope this helps, please comment if I missed out any information.
