Player anchor script not working. Can someone find a solution?

I'm making a game, and when a player joins the game, during the intro gui they can move and jump and what not. With this script, yes, it anchors the payer but I want it to have a .5 second delay so it shows the character not all messed up. Is there a way to do this? If so what is the solution?

game.Players.PlayerAdded:connect(function(newPlayer)
	newPlayer.CharacterAdded:connect(function(char)
		char:WaitForChild("Torso").Anchored = true
	end)
end)

wait(0.5) should be what you're looking for.

Instead of freezing the player you could simply make it so that the player's cannot spawn by default. And simply load the player after the intro is done. That's my suggestion.

This is explained here

And you can check out how to manually load the character here.

This requires a little extra work than what you was originally looking for, but I'm sure you can build on this and expand your intro and even gather more ideas with this method.
