I've been trying to find help, but videos are tough to understand. What tools do I need and how do I possibly make custom animations and make them apply to all players of a server?

The first step to creating animations is to download ROBLOX's official Animation Editor plugin. After that, load up your studio and create your animation.
When you've finished creating your animation, export it to the site, and save the ID for the animation.
After that, open your script, and create an Animation.
local animation = Instance.new('Animation')
Set the AnimationId to the ID of the animation you've created, like so:
animation.AnimationId = "https://www.roblox.com/asset?id=42424242"
Then create a LoadAnimation object by loading the animation into the Humanoid of the Character you'd like the animation to be created on, like so:
local loadanimation = character.Humanoid:LoadAnimation(animation)
Finally, play the animation, by doing loadanimation:Play()
Hope this simplified it for you :)
