So, I want to start making scripted games. I've had experience with building and editing easy scripts as I have front paged on numerous occasions making tycoons. Don't worry, not those trashy copied tycoons, I actually built them from scratch but I still used a kit which I'm not entirely proud of.
I know the basics of LUA but can anyone who thinks they are exceptionally good at LUA nudge me in the right direction and state how they learnt?
I'm thinking of purchasing the LUA book (that is not based on ROBLOX), has anyone else done this...?
tl;dr I want to learn LUA, where to get started.

Read the official Lua manual: http://www.lua.org/manual/5.1/index.html#index; The first book of the "Programming in Lua" series is also available online: http://www.lua.org/pil/contents.html. Although they might be aimed at people who already have a programming background, they'll certainly prove useful. Lastly, there is the ROBLOX Wiki which contains information about everything ROBLOX-related.
Buying the book is probably a waste. I never did it, you can learn free.
