I know, this isn't very constructive...
I truly need help with this, I've been trying to figure it out on my own for a couple of months. No joke.
First off, I'd like to state that I'm not looking for you to just give me a script.
What would be really helpful would be for you to explain some of the CFrame operators that I would need to do and maybe give me some pseudo of sorts for me to use as reference.
I've been working on a first person shooter framework for sometime. It has most of the basic functions including aim down sights. But let me tell you, my current aim down sights structure is a pain in the ass. I have to manually code the target CFrame so that the gun is aligned perfectly with the sights. This is where I could use the help...
I want to simplify the process for aim down sights. I want to be able to simply add a part aligned with the sights that I can use to aim down the sights. YouTubes and TurboFusion both have different ways of doing this, both of which I've studied a bit. My biggest problem here is this. I don't use roblox's tool system. So I can't simply use their aim down sight CFrame stuff... I need to know exactly how CFrame works, how some of the specific functions work, how they can help me etc. Let me elaborate more on what I'm trying to do. Let's say I have a model, containing a gun, this gun contains a part, called aimpart, the handle is welded to the arm, the arm is welded to a part that is welded to the head and then offset so that the arm is at it's correct position. I need to change the offset of the arm weld so that the aimpart is aligned with the player's head.
If you took the time to read this whole thing, thank you very very much. If you could help me figure this out, I couldn't thank you enough. Like I said, I've been trying to figure this out for a couple of months now.
Edit: A video containing my current work on my FPS frame work: FPS Framework video

I will be leaving for the mountains today, I will check up on this as soon as I get back. Again thanks.
The video contains a very noticeable amount of lag in part due to my crappy computer and roblox's memory hog of a recorder.
cussing o:
I usually try to help out anyone whose question has not been answered yet, but I don't quite unterstand what you want to do. Specifically this line throws me off a bit: "I want to be able to simply add a part aligned with the sights that I can use to aim down the sights."
@cfiredog I explain that in further detail further down the question.
@wfvj014 haha, yeah... If that's what you call it. .. SH is not mobile friendly.
Haha well clearly a vacation seemed to help me out! I've solved my problem in a way that not only solves one problem but solves 3 problems that I've been thinking about for some time now.
