Is there a way to manipulate coregui?

Is there a way to manipulate coregui via script? I need the CHAT UI to be closed by default, but still be able to be opened.

It isn't possible unless you make a custom chat Gui

Is this what you mean?

http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=API:Class/StarterGui/SetCoreGuiEnabled

To enable chat:

game.StarterGui:SetCoreGuiEnabled(Enum.CoreGuiType.Chat, true)

To disable chat:

game.StarterGui:SetCoreGuiEnabled(Enum.CoreGuiType.Chat, false)

SetCoreGuiEnabled only works in Localscripts.

He said he wanted the chat to be CLOSED (by default, since ROBLOX puts it as open once you join), SetCoreGuiEnabled basically MURDERS the chat gui.

I think your best option would be to remove the chat menu with the code in this answer and then make your own chat menu which you can control however you desire.

Killer, it's the other way around. It's false to disable chat and true to enable it.
