the two main methods of use are either creating multiple decals and using a loop to generate through some type of ''slide'', or simply using sprite-sheets for the purpose of in-game performance. (although, I'm not exactly the best with getting stuff set up to do that) what is a better known method for creating decal animations, like a loading screen icon for example.

Constantly changing the decal in a loop would flash in-between sometimes. If its something like one of the loading icon's with a couple of dots that have different transparencies I would just rotate it.
You could also have a couple of parts that change decals behind the screen and then are cframed up to the screen when they are to be used.
those are both helpful, but are you sure there arent any other methods to doing this that may seem more efficient?
