How do I make a vote kill script that can only be used by alive players?

I am making a game similar to Town of Salem/Mafia. So how do I make a vote to kill players script that triggers a death animation? (Also, once players are dead they cannot vote again.) I've tried making one myself, However it doesn't work at all.
