If a player has built a controlled base on a baseplate, like a tycoon/sandbox type of game. How would you go about saving the base in its exact state (or as close as it can be)? So that it loads the same when you return.

Saving an entire base using data store?

That would be simply painful and nearly impossible to save objects(lot of them) using only datastore.
All I can suggest is using this:
and maybe this?

Both those techniques don't really apply to what I'm trying to do. Unless SavePlace can be changed to save a specific model only, and reload it in a specific location. Otherwise, I believe it can be done more easily, I've seen it in places like Lumber Tycoon 2, and Miner's Haven.

Does Anyone know how they do it? Do they just save a bunch of properties of a bunch of buildings?

Pretty sure this has been asked before. I think you would have to save the parts' properties in a dictionary and save that into a table to the data store or some crap like that. That's my guess anyways.
Well, that seems like the obvious answer, but that seems incredibly tedious. It would take hundreds of stored values. Is there not a better way?
It all depends on what you need to remember. You don't have to save each and every property of the object, only the ones you absolutely need. I recommend you search up "serialization".
