how to make a leaderboard that gives money when you play?

so ive been trying to do this script but its hard i keep trying but never gives money i need help!

Here is a basic script you can use:

game.Players.PlayerAdded:connect(function(plr)
  local stats = Instance.new("IntValue", plr);
  stats.Name = "leaderstats";

  local cash = Instance.new("IntValue", stats);
  cash.Name = "Cash";
  cash.Value = 10;

  while wait(5) do
    cash.Value = cash.Value + 5;
  end;
end);

This script will add 5 Cash to a player every 5 seconds.
