Custom character models?

How can you create custom character models, such as things like Polygunz, or even add custom parts to the player for clothes, i.e. thelolguy301's stuff.

not a request, I've been experimenting with this forever and have never found a way

This is a VERY broad question. There are a lot of different aspects that go into creating custom characters (user input, rigging, animating, physics, etc).

There's a character creator plugin that lets you easily create motor6d's, so you can animate the custom models. I've never used it before, but I think it should help

In order to create a custom character, You must first build the character. I highly suggest that you label each body part for ease of use while animating or anything. The character needs to have a part called HumanoidRootPart , Head and Torso as well as an actual Humanoid object. Rather than explaining to you how to set this up via script, I'd suggest using the custom character creator plugin. (https://www.roblox.com/Character-Creator-BETA-item?id=171922549) You simply click the starting part (Torso for example) And then whatever you wish to connect to that part. Once you rig the entire character model, you need to go to Players and uncheck the box that says CharacterAutoloads.

After which you need to replace the players character.

function onSpawn(player)
    local char = game.ReplicatedStorage["newPlayer"]:Clone()
    local SpawnLocation = game.Workspace.SpawnLocation
    char.Parent = workspace
    char.Name = player.Name
    char:MoveTo(SpawnLocation.Position)
    player.Character = char

    local human = char:WaitForChild("Humanoid")

    human.WalkSpeed = 10

end
end

That's the a barebones of the method anyway. Good luck!
