Saving the layout of a tycoon?

Hi!

I'm trying to save the layout of a tycoon, but i don't know if datastores would handle saving models with more models, scripts, values and parts in them.

I wanted the saving to be more like the Miner's Haven layout saving script.

Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks.

I already tried a couple of things, but they failed.

Describe it
It's a box. A pink box.

When you save stuff, tell the DataStores what you're trying to save, and tell it where to save it relative to the Tycoon. Your data could look something like:

{
	obj = "DuckyCannon";
	data = {
		level = 5;
		hasSpecialUpgrade = true;
		shootsDuckies = false;
	};
	position = {RelativeX, RelativeY, RelativeZ};
}

And then to load it, you just reconstruct everything from that data. This is called serialization/deserialization and it's often done behind the scenes for the network stuff in Roblox.

Okay, thanks :D

I, however, don't know how I would save the exact position, as there are multiple places a player can spawn. Also, I don't know how to save the rotation of it. How would I do this? I'm kind of a noob at saving stuff.

Could I have some help with writing this? I'm really confused at this point. I never used saving to save parts/models, apart from when i used it for saving tools.

There's that word again. serialization/deserialization. It was the first question I asked about. The guy never got back to me about it though... At least I have an idea now!
