Is their a way to ask a script to find what the player touched in a touched function?

I am not going to use a script because we all know what a touched function is. I need this because I'm trying to make an obby stage up system thingy, and I want to make it so if the player touches something and the name is higher numerically than the leaderstat "stage" it will go up.
