how do i perfectly position a gui?

This is a rather broad question. The best way to learn how to adjust GUI sizes / positions to your liking is to keep practicing with them until you eventually get the general feel of how it works.
A GUI's size and position within a two-dimensional space can be read in order as (xScale, xOffset, yScale, yOffset). If you wish to obtain a 'perfect' GUI size / position that you desire, I'd suggest you read up on the differences between Scale and Offset (whereas Scale refers to size / position relative to their parent's dimensions, and Offsetbeing the number of pixels added to the value returned by Scale )
For more information, read the wiki article for GUI's here: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/Beginner's_GUI_Tutorial
