So I made a sword (lightsaber to be precise) and I weld it to the back of the character, etc. How do I make it so when I press a key it takes out the light?

I guess it has to do transparency so when it is welded its transparency is 1, but when it takes it out the transparency is 0.

But whenever I do it with transparency it transparent the whole lightsaber.... When I take it out its transparency becomes 0 so it's visible.
