How do you put words/writing on bricks?

Try using a SurfaceGui with a textLabel:

You can use SurfaceGuis or Decals. Both will do what you want to do.

Surface GUIs. How do I do it. I put it on with Insert Basic Object. But now what do I do?

Use it just like a ScreenGui, except you have to set the Adornee property to the part it's on.

...I don't understand anything about ScreenGUIs. How do you do this. Sorry i'm a beginner.
