So, I want to create a dive like in 3d platformer games (mario 64 and robot 64 are good examples) but I don't know how to do the sliding part. I've been looking around for quite a while now and have not found any useful results. (Once again, I know how to do everything apart from the bit where I want it to slide.)

There are multiple elements that you need to include in a dive. You need to include animations. And you need to include a forward velocity to the dive.
