I'm trying to make a custom npc that doesn't use r6 or r15 but there are no tutorials or anything. how do I make one? I have a slime model but I can't use it since idk how to make custom npcs.

Humanoids have two minimum requirements:
- The HumanoidRootPart.
- The Head.
If at least one of these is not supplied to a Humanoid, the Humanoid will instantly die. Custom NPCs don't need limbs, because all they need is a head and a root part for the Humanoid to stay alive.
For a slime, I'd personally suggest making the root part visible (if you want to) or putting anything over the root part, and then making the head invisible. A slime blob with a head doesn't exactly make logical sense.

But how would i animate a character to look like like it wasnt r6 or r15
