I'm 14 and I want to learn Lua, to be honest, this will be my first programming language and I don't know where to start. Everything is pretty confusing to me so far, but I'm trying to take in everything. Any strategies and help would be appreciated.

Many people learn in many different ways. I personally used free models and uncopylocked games to learn from. I would go through the code and experiment and learn. The devforum is also a great source to find out what things mean. Your first approach would probably be to work on simple things first rather than a whole game. Create a door that opens with a button, find out how to make a laser gun

There is a great tutorial on the dev forum (https://developer.roblox.com/en-us/articles/Raycasting) for learning how to. Once you find yourself able to make simple things, try to make a really basic game. Like a line runner with custom power ups. Dont worry about making a game people will like/enjoy, your goal is to learn. Expect to make lots of mistakes, and expect not to make a great game first

try. Dont let me discourage you, you very well may. But there is just so much to learn and process, that you'll be halfway done with a game and decide to scrap it cause you learned how to do it better. Never get discouraged from your abandoned projects, they were all learning environments.
