So I was making a game but I wanted a way for players to reduce lag. So I made a settings option in my game to turn off the falling snow/make it a less detailed snow texture, but how would I make it so that it will only show for the player that enabled it? Sorry I am new to this whole scripting thing

Well since this is client-sided this is quite easy to accomplish.
You can have a textbutton with a LocalScript with the following:
local MyParticle = workspace.ParticlePart.ParticleEmitter
local enabled = true
script.Parent.MouseButton1Click:connect(function()
if enabled == true then
enabled = false
MyParticle.Enabled = false
script.Parent.Text ="Disabled the particle"
else
enabled = true
MyParticle.Enabled = true
script.Parent.Text = "Enabled the particle"
end
end)
Use a LocalScript.
Whatever Is in a LocalScript will only show for the local player, not the entire game.
