i want to try to see if any random text has been inserted in a textbox? and if so you can you do an action if the textbox has text in it?.

I like to use nil sometimes too!
You can check if a text box has text in it or if a text box has a certain type of text by going
if textbox.Text == "TextHere" then
end

No string can be nil, even if it contains no characters.

nil = nothing, when nothing is in the string which you can use just "string" and check if it's nil because like we said nil = nothing so "" is nothing but yes, more or less nil wont work for regular strings. Complex strings it will depending on how you use it.
