Is there a better way to detect someones speed other than using Humanoid.WalkSpeed?

So I've always detected someones speed using their walkspeed, but I want to know if there is a more effective way of checking it.

This is what I mean by checking their walkspeed:

game.Players.PlayerAdded:Connect(function(plr)
plr.CharacterAdded:Connect(function(char)
local humanoid = char.Humanoid
print(humanoid.WalkSpeed)

Thanks!

EDIT: Ok so i hear that you can see their position every few seconds and how far they go, how would i do that?

The only other way you can detect somones walkspeed is by firstly noting down a players HRP position every 1 second, after you've done that you note down which were the greatest position changes (exp: 40) and then check if the players HRP's position change is greater then that number, if its greater that must mean they are traveling faster then the set speed of the character.
