Why wont the text on the TextLable change?

I'm trying to change the text via script like this but it wont work.

local text = script.Parent.Text

while true do
	wait(1)
	text = "Loading Assets."
        wait(1)
	text = "Loading Assets.."
	wait(1)
        text = "Loading Assets..."
	wait(1)
	text = "Loading Assets"
end

You're actually changing the variable "text" to a string.

text = "Loading Assets."

would change the variable text to a string, "Loading Assets."

You can change the TextLabel's text by:

script.Parent.Text = "Loading Assets.."
