Why do you often do a small capital before the big one when you name the parts?

I see this alot with scripters, and developers, but I don't understand this. Why do you often name something e.g. mainPart instead of MainPart? I am wondering, and can't find the answer to it.

It's called "Camel Case", named after the "hump" on a camel's back. It's for aesthetic or readability reasons. Camel casing is used for naming variables, parts and even companies. For example, "eBay" is in camel case.

local AVariable
--Avariable?
local aVariable
--Oh, it's supposed to be "a variable"

It comes down to preference, it doesn't affect anything.
