Explain character in script and local script ?

I was trying to access plr.charcter in script but was unable to access it Output showed -Attempt to index nil with Character I tried characteradded event too but it didn't work

But when i do the same thing in local script it works And i can access character there

Why is that, can anyone explain it?

local char = game.Players.LocalPlayer.Character :D
