I think you could sometimes use values, but it makes it quite easy to exploit. Like if you made a value true or false if you had a gamepass. So you should probably stick to modules

Just to make sure, by "Trying several tutorials" You actually tried to understand what is going on instead of copying it like its a step by step tutorial, right?

That's not true. I learned lots of things from videos. I feel better going to the developer hub though, but there's nothing wrong with learning about data stores from yt tutorials. mouse11246, try AlvinBlox or TheDevKing's tutorial.
Starting with absolutely no knowledge of scripting using videos is a very bad idea because you won't know if what you are watching is outdated or just a bad practice in general. But, if you absolutely had to watch a video, I recommend TheDevKing over AlvinBlox because AlvinBlox has a lot of outdated videos.
I started with 0 knowledge from youtube tutorials in fact that's what's gotten me into programming and i'm doing just fine, you can simply try to find newer videos to avoid getting outdated information, of course I'm not saying videos alone are enough, but saying "You 'will' not learn anything" is just wrong
