Hello! I'm pretty new to scripting and I made this script so that the text in a text label will change to one of the player's leaderstats value, but it doesn't work.

Script:

textLabel = script.Parent
local Players = game:GetService("Players")
local player = game.Players.LocalPlayer
local stagevalue = player.leaderstats.Stage.Value

textLabel.Text  = stagevalue

u should put a local first on line 1: local textLabel = script.Parent

Yes, it's a local script. I added local on line 1 and it still doesn't work. There are no errors.

try punting the textlabel.text = stagevalue in a loop
