it says lap is not a valid member of datamodel, how can i fix it?

If Lap is not a valid member of a model, then you might have messed up the path. You could also try script.Parent.Parent:WaitForChild("Lap")
Another suggestion IS TO GIVE US MORE THAN ONE LINE OF THE SCRIPT, AND MAYBE THE EXPLORER AS WELL SO WE CAN VERIFY THE PATH, SINCE THE PATH IS BASICALLY THE ENTIRE CODE WE SEE.
