I've done this before, and it's worked perfectly fine! I have no idea what's wrong with this script. Is anyone able to help?

If that doesn't work, make sure you made it a "Local Script" and if that still doesn't work, you might have to make it not visible from the Local player Gui. This is an example
local Player = game.Players.LocalPlayer
script.Parent.MouseButton1Click:Connect(function()
Player.PlayerGui.ScreenGui.TextLabel.Visible = false
end)

Did you use frame? if you use it, try to set zindex value of the frame

Did you put the correct amount of Parents?
Yes
What if the particular GUI text isnt visible at the default setting? ( the box "Visible" is selected, or the text has an transparency of 1? )
